2.05 - Wrigley's 5: React (warm)

Wrigley's 5: React (warm)

So in April of 2010, we reviewed Wrigley’s 5: React, but the packaging was blue-green (which I will call “cool”) and minty. http://nowchewonthis.blogspot.com/2010/04/420-wrigleys-5-react.html

This one is named the same thing, but has a different package, and has a fruity flavor. In addition they both have "sequel" gums, called React2, and both have an interesting black wrapper and black coloration. Not sure what the heck is going on here.

I would like to point out that 3 members of the taste test team didn't even try to last 20 minutes to qualify for a real review of this gum. Its score may qualify it for the bottom 5 of all time!

Participating in this review: Jay, Kevin, Adam, & Liz.

"It’s gone on vacation and didn’t even sent its Out Of Office voicemail!"
"Frankly, the flavor lasts TOO long. What is this flavor?"

"The flavor is better than the scent...so there is that."
"I made the mistake of smelling the gum first. It’s smelled vinegary. So the taste is better than the smell. I ask again, what is this flavor?"
"Ewwww!"

"Over all, very weak. Even the initial burst was lame."

Comments:
"Okay I suppose. It is a stick gum, so it could use a bit more gum."

Refreshment: 1.75

Liz - 2

Comments:
"Not really. It isn’t super sweet, so it isn’t the worst, but it doesn’t give you a clean feeling either."
"The flavor is not refreshing...and another thing: the color of the gum. I need to comment on the grey/black color. It would be a good color only if you wanted to coordinate your gum with your handbag."
"Ha!"

Overall Score: 2.05
