2.75 - Bubblicious: Strawberry

Bubblicious: Strawberry is another strong bubblegum, but overall weak. It seems the flavor wasn't strong, nor did it last long. But as far as Strawberry gums go, it isn't half bad!

"The end result is ok, but the beginning ‘shift’ is strange. In my opinion, it’s just a gimmick that doesn’t serve a purpose. Since the majority of the time you’ll be chewing the end results (the berry/mint combo), it would be better if it just started that way. The shift stage at the beginning isn’t very pleasant."

3.85 - Eclipse: Spearmint

So, I have this condition. When I pop a piece of really minty gum into my mouth, the mint blast causes me to sneeze. Just once and then it is done. This is the first time one of our gums has caused this to happen.

Now that I think about it, the gum that makes this happen to me on a routine basis is Eclipse as well. Anyway, that speaks to the strength of the flavor, at least to start.

Not super convenient for transport, but okay if you have a handy drawer at work you keep it in, just using that as an example. 4.23 - Wrigley's: Big League Chew: Bubble Gum Flavor

The #1 requested gum has finally been reviewed. Big League Chew comes to "Now, Chew On This..." and we couldn't be happier. The gang was all smiles and rip roaring to get to it. We had two pouches to make sure there was plenty to go around and even shared some with others. Everywhere I went, people would say "Big League Chew!", "Where did you find it?", and "How come you never see adds for it anymore?"

For those that don't know, Big League Chew comes in a pouch and is shredded into thin strips so you can take as much or as little as you want.

Regardless it was worthy enough to push it's way up to the #4 Top Gum position!

Stride: Mega Mystery is one of the new gums from Stride. Along with the Shift gums (see previous blog entry), this gum is one of Stride's attempts to break the mold of the standard mint and fruity gums. A try at something new...and that is something. We weren't looking forward to it, when the wrapper reminded us of Fruit Stripe, but luckily it was quite a bit better than that.

You know what I just realized? Back when I was a kid, during the Bubblicious-Hubba Bubba wars, none of the big bubble blowing gums had any minty flavors. They were always fruity types. Is that strange? Why not have a minty bubble gum? Orbit has Bubble Mint, but it is a classic bubble gum flavor with a minty twist, not a true bubble gum. I think that is strange.

2.35 - Orbit Mist: Watermelon Spring

After taking a month of and posting the "best" and "worst", it is time to get back to chewing.

The gum today is Orbit Mist: Watermelon Spring. Immediately, I frowned, as I am not a watermelon guy, but let's see what everyone thought.

A Review Of Disgust...The Bottom 5 Gums (so far...)

So far, this blog has reviewed 30 gums. The time seems right to review which gums were the most disappointing, gross, pointless, and a waste of your $1.25.

2.20 - Bubblicious Bursts: Mango Peach

Another "gush" style gum, but more or less the same result. The burst in this one just provided a really disgusting boost of "flavor", that soon fades. It would be better if the burst wasn't there at all.

4.25 - Wrigley's Orbit: Maui Melon Mint

You would think something called Maui Melon Mint it would bring a strange and completely gross mix of flavors that were never meant to go together, like Beef-Peppermint. But it is a pretty surprising gum.

2.75 - Bubblicious Bursts: Sour Cherry Storm

When this gum was selected, the groans went out. It could be because the last "burst" style gum was pretty gross. Well, guess what? This one sucks only slightly less than that one.

Ah yes...sunshine, sand, sun-tan lotion, women in bikinis, buff shirtless surfer dudes, coconut, rum, and good times. All the stuff that a good Pina Colada brings. However, when you try to capture all of that into a gum, well, let's just say it isn't that easy.
